Runner for life

This blog is about running.  I started running when I was about 18 years old.  I would not say I was a runner until about 2010.  My sister suggested I run a half marathon with her in Virginia in 2009.  My sister-in-law and niece were also going to run their first half marathon and this was going to be a family get-together run.  At first I thought to myself, “Why would anyone want to run 13.1 miles?”  But I agreed and started, I guess you could call it training, in May of 2009.  Not having a clue what to do, I decided to just run 3 miles a day and work my way up to 5 miles.  Then I could just run the half and that should be fine. Well one weekend, talking to my sister-in-law, she mentioned she was running 8 miles for her long run that week on Saturday.  My first thought was, long run, what is that?  Well I figured I better run 8 miles too.  Fast forward:  I have learned a lot over the last 4 years. As of today (4/19/2013), I have run 21 half marathons, 7 marathons, and countless other 5ks, 10ks, relays, running classes, and coaching classes.  I started this blog to help anyone that would like to learn and enjoy this thing we call running.
